As the name implies, Smooth Groove is a polished contemporary music ensemble. You want the sounds of Smooth Groove if the mood you want to create is hip, funky, contemporary, groovy, smooth, and classy. From the funky grooves of the Brand New Heavies, Whitney, and Al Green, to the classiness of Sinatra and Dianna Krall, Smooth Groove will put the hipness in your event.
The Groove is the pulse. It’s the heartbeat to your event. It is the life of the party. The Groove is the underlying current of what makes people move. The Groove can be low key in an understated manner that can be felt internally, or it can be in your face when it needs to be. Smooth Groove is that pulse. Smooth Groove will make your event into the sophisticated and classy affair that you envision; though, never stuffy or too serious. The players in Smooth Groove have been perfecting their craft for decades. What we do not offer any of is cheese or gimmicks. We never resort to tools of gimmickry or corniness. We simply rely on the Almighty Groove for which we respect and revere. We don’t try to induce people to get on the dance floor if they don’t feel like it. The key word here is feel. They must feel it in their bodies. We believe strongly that the rhythms Smooth Groove generates will put the feeling in almost anybody. When the band is in ambience mode the music is played discreetly and low key, people will find themselves tapping a finger, a foot, or any other parts of their body unknowingly. When the band kicks it into showcase dance mode, the Groove and pulse of the music will have people gyrating in their seats, which have the side effect of propelling one off their posteriors and unto an infectious uncontrollable rhythmic seizure.
